The man who hacked Jennifer Lawrence and more than 30 other celebrities has officially been prosecuted, according to The Guardian.
Back in 2014, Edward Majerczyk organized a phishing scheme and stole private photos from many famous people and leaked them online.
In court, Edward explained that he gained access to celebrity’s accounts by pretending to be an agent of an internet service provider and asking them for username and password information.
Edward has been sentenced to nine months in jail and ordered to pay $ 5,700 in restitution fees, which is set to recuperate therapy expenses incurred by one of the victims.
His attorney says he has been deeply affected by the fallout from the scandal and had been suffering from depression at the time of the hacking.
