Life is too short to worry about day-to-day problems — at least that seems to be Snoop Lion’s message in his “Ashtrays And Heartbreaks” video featuring Miley Cyrus. Sure, there might be a million issues in the world (and Snoop isn’t standing idly by — he’s trying to change things for the better), you just can’t let it get you down. Life is to be enjoyed! (The D-O-G-G knows what we’re talking about, especially given his own, erm, herbal relaxation techniques.)
P.R. Brown directed the clip for the latest single from Reincarnated. The video features Snoop and Miley as apparitions appearing before several trouble-filled scenarios: fist-fighting friends need to settle their differences, a homeless man extends kindness by feeding the birds, etc. Basically, Snoop wants to illustrate that everyone has their way of coping with hard times.
This isn’t Snoop’s first foray into humanitarianism, either: With his recent Rastafarian transformation, Snoop clearly has the opportunity to express his feelings and expel straightforward social commentary (see: “No Guns Allowed”) that might’ve been more difficult to do as Snoop Dogg. And believe you me, we’re all for Snoop opening his mind and heart to positivity. Even if it means indulging in his favorite habit a little more often than usual.
