Jonny Mitchell and Stephanie Pratt’s relationship came to a bitter end last week, when the Made In Chelsea star took to Twitter in an emotional outburst, to accuse her ex-boyfriend of leading a “secret double life”.
But Jonny’s ex, Tyla Carr, has defended him, in an exclusive chat with OK! Online.
When asked whether she believed the allegations against Jonny, Tyla replied: “No, not at all,” before adding: “I just think it’s become one of those things where they’ve tried to break up and it’s got a little bit bitter.
Making a dig at Steph, Tyla continued: “I think it’s just probably better to not reply to silly comments if you know they’re not true.
“I’ve spoken to Jonny and he’s absolutely fine. He’s doing as well as one can be in the situation.”
“It’s so easy to get into a tit-for-tat situation, and it just accelerates it all, so I think he’s just trying to get on with his own life, and concentrate on him.”
Tyla Carr arrives back in the UK after being dumped off Love Island
Tyla’s defence of Jonny comes after Steph wrote a series of emotional tweets to her 933k followers.
She said: “I can’t tell if I’m numb or in absolute shock” and added she was “speechless” as she accused the Love Island star of straying during their relationship.
The former Celebrity Big Brother star also shared screenshots, depicting a WhatsApp conversation and direct messages, raising further her fears about their relationship.
Alongside Tyla, several of the Love Island cast have jumped to Jonny’s defence in the wake of Steph’s allegations.
Gabby Allen was reportedly “fuming” at Steph, while Montana Brown posted a tweet which read: “So upsetting the lengths people will go for attention, I don’t normally tweet about this stuff but @jonnyVmitchell is a good friend & can hand on heart say he is lovely and genuine.
“The accusations made against him are not fair and untrue. Let’s try bring each other up not down.”
Responding to those who accused her of lying, Steph tweeted: “Omg wait why am I arguing with love island people when their whole career is cheating on each other & having sex to further their career.
“This is their norm… sorry guys forgot what planet I was on.”
