Coronation Street star Kym Marsh has opened up on her co-star Bill Roache’s return to the soap, following his daughter Vanya’s tragic death at the age of 50.
Bill went in an indefinite leave of absence following the devastating news, which apparently left him “utterly heartbroken”.
But speaking exclusively to OK! Magazine, Kym has opened up about the beloved character’s much-anticipated return – and her how and the cast are helping him with his loss.
“Last week Bill Roache was back at work after sadly losing his daughter Vanya,” she exclusively revealed to OK! Magazine.
“I saw him in the corridor and gave him a big hug but didn’t really say anything much apart from that. It was good to see him and have him back.”.
Kym revealed that the whole of the cast are “a big family”, adding: “We’ll look after him”.

Reports last week suggested that Bill had returned to the soap to film as Ken, alongside his newborn granddaughter.
“Bill made it clear he wanted to be back at work, he’s a total professional even after nearly 60 years on the show,” a source told The Sun.
“But everyone was keen to make sure he is well looked after and give him all the support they can to help with his transition.
“He seems OK and loved working with his new on-screen granddaughter,” the insider added.
According to The Mail Online, Vanya’s heartbroken fiancé, Toby Evans, revealed Vanya’s death was the result of liver failure.
The publication quotes him as saying: “We are very private people, all the family are and so we don’t really want to speak about it.
“Vanya was a nice person, a lovely person. It was a liver failure that she died of, it happened very quickly. But I don’t really want to talk about it, we’re very private people.”
The actor, who plays Ken Barlow in the long-running ITV soap, reportedly lost Vanya on Friday 2 March, with friends of the family paying tribute to her over the weekend.
