The Loose Women star sparked controversy online after she advertised her pets and stressed that only “serious” buyers should contact her, as she’s desperate to find her two rare Sphinxes the perfect home.
Katie explained that her dogs hate her hairless felines – but anyone interested must be willing to splurge £1,300 per cat.
Taking to her Instagram account on Tuesday (5 Dec 2017), Katie uploaded a photograph of the bald kitties sitting together with their diamante collars dazzling brightly around their necks.
She captioned it: “Hey unfortunately I’m having to sell my cats and find good home £1300 each they are boys and been spade our dogs just don’t like them for serious enquiries contact email@example.com.”
While some fans commented on their beauty, many criticised the star for getting rid of them.
One wrote: “Genuine post ? Surely not ?!” as another said: “Should have perhaps thought of this before they became part of your family”
While others questioned why she is selling the cats online.
One user said: “Why is she advertising them on social media in the first place? And she’s proved that just cus someone can afford them, doesn’t mean they won’t fob them off once inconvenient to her, even if means separating them. Irresponsible”
Another said: “Let the RSPCA re-home them as will thoroughly vet anyone interested first, rather than posting on social media”
The mother-of-five bought her first Sphynx earlier, and splashed out on a second so they could keep each other company.
She said as she introduced them on Loose Women: “I’ve already got one Sphynx but he’s a pink-coloured one, so that’s a friend. It is a cat, but bald, it’s a bald pussy!”
Katie has over 200 animals, at home and said she bought the cats because they’re “good with the kids” and very “intelligent”.
She said previously: “I love them! I am an animal lover and anyone with an allergy, they’re great. They’re so intelligent – they’re not like normal cats – they’re like dogs, they come when they’re called. I love them because they’re not like normal cats.
“They do look odd but they’re very affectionate, they’re good with the kids and they’re very intelligent. They’re bald. It has got clothes because they get cold. Instead of me having another baby, I’ve got another baby.”
