The Shape of You singer, 26, was given the ultimate honour by Prince Charles, and was seen posing with the pretigious award outside the palace on Thursday.
The MBE, which stands for Member of the Order of the British Empire, is given for outstanding achievement or service to the community.
Looking suave and sophisticated in his suit, Taylor Swift’s pal beamed as he posed up a storm with his accolade – sporting a smart tails coat and grey trouser combo for the incredibly special day.
While there, Ed hinted he might be performing at one of the biggest events next year will see – Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding.
While confirming he hadn’t quite been asked just yet, he claimed he’d be more than happy to perform on the big day, exclaiming: “Yeah, why not!”
The singer, who has enjoyed worldwide success with his hits such as The A-Team and Thinking Out Loud, also spoke about his late grandad at the event.

He said: “Do you know what I love, my grandfather was a massive royalist.
“He had all the commemorative plates and stuff, and he died on this day four years ago, so it’s actually quite a nice full circle thing, I guess he’d be pretty proud.”
Meghan and Harry are set to wed in Spring 2018, after only recently confirming their engagement.
Just days after the announcement, Kensington Palace and Clarence House confirmed two important details – when and where.
A statement read: “The marriage of Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle will take place at St. George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle in May 2018.
“Her Majesty The Queen has granted permission for the wedding to take place at the Chapel.
“The Royal Family will pay for the wedding.”
