It’s been 14 years since Ashley Peacock’s fiery wife Maxine was murdered by Richard Hillman on Coronation Street.
The hairdresser initially joined the Street in 1995, and was a resident until her death in January 2003.
While married to Ashley, she had an affair with doctor Matt Ramsden, and later gave birth to their son.
She was killed by Gail’s hubby Richard Hillman, who had planned to kill Emily Bishop.
But what happened to the actress that played her?
Tracy Shaw is now 42, and while she has been rather quiet in recent years, she has still had a successful career as an actress and excitingly is set to star in a film called Monster, alongside former EastEnders actress Danielle Harold, due to start filming next year.
Suranne Jones played Karen McDonald between 2000 to 2004 – she’s gone on to star in several TV dramas and even won a BAFTA for her portrayal of Gemma Fster in Doctor Foster [Wenn]
Over the past decade, Tracy has also starred in Doctors as Tina Sloane, as Jane in Casualty and as Lynn in Mile High.
She’s also had a number of high profile stage roles, including as Jill in Mum’s The Word and Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors.
Her website adds: “Theatre credits include the highly successful number one tour of The Blue Room, T.S. Eliot’s Murder in the Cathedral and Shakespeare’s Pericles amongst many more.
“Last year she had immense fun performing in her first pantomime where she played Robinson Crusoe.”
Tracy has also has two children since leaving the show.
